David Acevedo has been the Senior Pastor at FBC Baird for the last five years.  Before coming to Baird he served as pastor for Calvary Baptist Church in Rotan Texas.  David served Calvary for almost 15 full years.  He served the Texas Public School system for 35 years working as a coach, teacher, and administrator during that time.  

David has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education from Angelo State University, as well as a Doctorate degree in Biblical Exposition from Andersonville Theological Seminary.  

David is married to his wife, Pamela and the couple have two children.  DJ and his family reside in Azusa California and their daughter Victoria and her family reside in Abilene.  Grandpa and Uma Acevedo have six grandkids, that they spoil every chance they get!

Cliff Shriver is in his second year as the Youth Minister for FBC Baird.  Cliff and his wife Colleena have been members of FBC Baird since 2021, and a part of the Baird community since 2002. 

Cliff is a retired Air Force Veteran who also served as a Corrections Officer in the Texas Justice System.  Cliff has been a member of FBC Baird for the last 15 years.  

Cliff is also a volunteer coach working with the junior high athletes at Baird Junior High School.  He has been the director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle for the last two years.  An avid fisherman Cliff spent his youth playing along the waters of the gulf coast having been born and raised in Corpus Christi Texas.  

Peggy Abernathy has lived in Baird for 55 years.  She has been a member of FBC Baird since 1992.  In 2017 Peggy went to work at FBC and has served as the office manager since that time.  

Gwen Calvin has lived in Baird for the last 59 years.  She was baptized at the Baptist Church in Clyde at the age of 11.  It was at that time that she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Baird.  She has been the Chief Financial Officer since 2022.
